Learn it bybuilding it.
Open courses to take here, lesson by lesson, on Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. In every one you build along in your own workspace, from the first step to the parts most people never find. All of them are free, and more are on the way.
Learn it here, lesson by lesson.
Pick a platform and a level. A course shows one lesson at a time: read it, build it in your own workspace, and come back any time.
- 01 · Azure · BeginnerYour first metadata-driven pipeline
One Azure Data Factory pipeline that copies every table a control table lists, and from the second run on only the rows that changed.

Copy into a staging table, merge it into the real one by key, and log every run with how many rows came in, changed and were new.

Bronze, silver and gold in a Microsoft Fabric lakehouse, filled by notebooks, with bad rows set aside instead of lost.
Start the course3 lessons · 9 min - 04 · Fabric · IntermediateIncremental loads in a lakehouse
A watermark table in a Microsoft Fabric lakehouse, a notebook that merges only the rows loaded since the last run, and a pipeline that runs it on a schedule.
Start the course3 lessons · 9 min - 05 · Power BI · BeginnerDAX measures that add up
From a plain total to year to date and last year: measures that give the right number in every visual of a Power BI report.
Start the course3 lessons · 12 min - 06 · Power BI · IntermediateRow-level security that holds
Roles in a Power BI semantic model that show each person only their own rows, from one fixed filter to one role for everyone, tested before the report goes out.

The same four rules, every course.
- 01Build along
Everyone builds the same thing in their own workspace, step by step, instead of watching someone else do it.
- 02From zero to the advanced parts
Each course climbs one level at a time, so nobody starts in the middle and nobody waits at the end.
- 03Data shaped like a business
The exercises use orders, customers, products and dates, with the duplicates and gaps real data has.
- 04Written down to keep
Every step is written down, so you can do it again on your own data the week after.
5 courses, on the way.
On Azure (1), Fabric (1) and Power BI (3). Each one goes further than an open course above, lesson by lesson, and will be free like them. The one most people ask for comes first.

Before you start.
Are the courses free?
Yes. Every course is free and open, with no account and no sign-up. You read a lesson, build it in your own workspace and come back any time. Your browser keeps the lessons you mark as done, so nothing about your progress is sent to me.
What do I need to take a course?
Each course starts with a short list of what you need, such as an Azure subscription, a Fabric workspace or Power BI Desktop. You tick each one off before the first lesson. Every course names its level, from beginner to intermediate, and climbs one step at a time.
When do the coming courses open?
They open one at a time, and there is no fixed date yet. Tell me which one you want first; that helps me decide what comes next. Until then, the 6 open courses on this page cover the same platforms: Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Is there a video for each course?
The videos are on the way. Each course page has a place for its video, marked as coming soon, and the lessons below it walk through every step in writing. When a video is out, it plays on the course page and on the BENIBIX YouTube channel.
Which course should come first?
Tell me which of the coming courses you would take first, or one you miss. That helps me decide which one opens next. For a user group or a meetup, there are the talks: free, online or in Vienna, with a working build in each one.
